Well hi, I’m Candic Dawn Nichols , the photographer behind Dawn Photography.
I’ve been capturing memories since 2019. This all began with my kids and husband. I wanted to hold on to every smile, every little moment that slipped by too fast. What started as saving memories of them grew into a love for capturing life in all its forms — people, pets, sunlight, and everything in between.
I am based in southeast Oklahoma, but I love to travel wherever my photography might take me.
I specialize in event photography and candid, in the moment shots the real smiles, the laughter, and the little moments you don’t want to forget. While I truly do a little bit of everything, my core sessions include children, boudoir, and pets.
Living with cerebral palsy, raising a son with autism, and working in the ABA field as an RBT have given me hands-on knowledge, patience, and understanding that deeply shape how I photograph families with special needs. I understand sensory sensitivities, the importance of flexibility, and how to create a calm, pressure-free environment where everyone feels safe and respected.
My style is rooted in real emotion and natural light. Whether it’s a child’s laugh, a pet’s personality, or quiet confidence shining through, I want each image to feel genuine and full of life.
Every family’s story is unique, and I’m honored to capture moments that truly matter. Because time moves fast, but photos let us keep a piece of it.
